Work Experience Placement A Success!

experience dictionary definition

As you are probably fully aware by now, SEP are committed to offering our services and support to the community wherever possible. The 1st week of March brought us the opportunity to host a work experience placement for a student from a local college.

The student joined us on the 2nd March and spent the entire week at SEP, managing to spend a little time with each person in the office covering enquiry to quotation and order processing, planning, purchasing, quality, accounts and advertising media and document control.

He however spent the majority of his time as part of the production team as a workshop operator. He was given the opportunity to spend a short period in each of our departments, shadowing operators during manufacturing periods. It’s safe to say, his time here was a big success!

We hope the student left SEP not just with a broader knowledge of our industry and what we do, but also a wider view of business as a whole and what it takes to be part of a successful organisation. Our biggest hope is that key people and life skills are enhanced as we provide the opportunity for the student(s) to get to grips with working, meeting new people, meeting deadlines and working in a team - at SEP, team work is a big factor to our success. We fully believe that a relevant work placement gives young people in the community the chance to gain hands-on experience of the working world and can be invaluable to them as they plan their future.
